Hey friends,
Hoppy Easter and all that. How are you all? Coco & I are good, we’ve had a weekend full of adventures and loved ones, with particular highlights being fried chicken (more later) and an 18-month old’s first Easter egg hunt - a real joy, especially the conspiracy laughs and wearing said eggs as a hat (we all did it).
I’m still on logistics - planning a work trip away, then two holidays in quick succession - I know it will be glorious though and full of my favourite people. Chat GPT is proving a really fun toy, helping me plan and giving me excellent drinks (also more later). But I’m glad to be back taking space in your inboxes.
So, without further adieu - Chat GPT ladies and gents… I gave it the task of building me a cocktail with the name “Coco” based on what I have in the house at this very moment, and it’s surprisingly good. Please email or whatsapp me to be the inspiration for next edition’s cocktail!
May I present the Coco…
Recipe and method lifted from Chat GPT in its entirety:
Ingredients:
1 oz rum
1 oz gin
1/2 oz Cointreau
1/2 oz St-Germain
1/2 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
1 dash Aperol
Elderflower tonic
Ice cubes
Lemon twist, for garnish (optional) (I did)
Instructions:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add 1 oz of rum, 1 oz of gin, 1/2 oz of Cointreau, 1/2 oz of St-Germain, 1/2 oz of lemon juice, 1/2 oz of simple syrup, and 1 dash of Aperol to the shaker.
Shake the ingredients vigorously for about 10 seconds.
Strain the mixture into a chilled Collins glass filled with ice.
Top up with elderflower tonic.
Garnish with a lemon twist, if desired.
One thing I can whole-heartly not recommend is the Just Whole Foods vanilla custard powder - it’s vegan and full of my promises, and what was produced was hilarity at best and best avoided at worst. Fortunately the homemade apple pie could stand alone without it’s backing dancer…
Things to watch and read… I will never stop recommending Ted Lasso - it’s worth the Apple TV+ subscription alone. Reading - Weyward by the immensely talented Emilia Hart who - full disclosure - is my friend’s girlfriend, and is utterly lovely, I inhaled this book and suggest you do the same!
See you with more cocktails soon,
C & C x
